Hours of Operation

We will be open from 7:00 am – 5:30 pm for both Langley and Surrey Locations

Covid-19 Van Cleaning Policy

After A.M and P.M transportation, at the end of each trip, the van must be cleaned as follows:

  1. All seats must be wiped down.
  2. Sweep the floor and spray bleach solution.
  3. Inside the van and windows must be wiped down with the bleach and water solution.
  4. All handles must be wiped down.

Developing Symptoms at The Center – Children

The following steps must be taken:

  1. Staff must supervise the child.
  2. The staff assigned should immediately separate the symptomatic child from others in a supervised area until pick up.
  3. The child’s parents must be contacted to pick them up immediately.
  4. The staff should maintain 2 meters from the child. However, if the child needs help or care, the staff can wear a mask while assisting the child.
  5. The child should be provided with tissue to practice safe hygiene.
  6. All windows and doors in the supervised area should be opened for proper ventilation.
  7. Avoid touching the child’s body fluids. If you do, wash your hands properly.
  8. Once the child is picked up, wash your hands thoroughly and disinfect the area used by the child (e.g., bathroom, mats, common areas).

Developing Symptoms at The Center – STAFF

The following steps must be taken:

  1. The symptomatic staff must separate themselves from others immediately.
  2. Maintain a two-meter distance from others.
  3. Wear a mask until you leave the facility.
  4. Staff will be assigned to clean and disinfect the area and space that was used by the symptomatic staff.

Please note: The symptomatic staff must go home right away if possible.

When to Stay at Home

Stay at home if the following applies to you:

  1. If you have two or more of the following symptoms listed below, you are required to stay at home
    • Common cold
    • Influenza
    • Fever
    • Abdominal pain, diarrhea, and vomiting
  2. If anyone in your household is symptomatic OR self-isolating because of Covid-19 exposure.
  3. If you have been traced by Contact Tracing.
  4. If you have tested positive for Covid-19.
  5. If you have travelled outside BC in the last 14 days, you must self-isolate for TWO WEEKS.

Cleaning

  1. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces at least twice a day.
  2. General cleaning of the daycare should be performed at least once a day.
  3. All common areas including washrooms and frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, cupboard handles, light switches, faucet handles, tables, chairs, and toys must be cleaned and disinfected at least once a day.
  4. Toys and objects that children have placed in their mouth should be kept in a labelled bin and disinfected.
  5. Clean and disinfect the cots and cribs after each use and launder crib linens between children.
  6. Diapering stations should be cleaned and disinfected after each use.
  7. Wash blankets, face cloths, towels, and bibs between uses by different children.
  8. Garbage bags must be emptied daily.
  9. If a child or staff leaves the daycare because of Covid-19 symptoms, clean every area that may have been used or touched by the child or staff.
  10. 3-5 program must pay extra attention when handling children’s bedding to be kept separately. It may also be washed once or twice.

Hygiene for Children

Children should perform hand hygiene:

  1. Before leaving home, when they arrive at the center, and before they go home.
  2. After using the washroom.
  3. Before and after eating.
  4. After a diaper change.
  5. After playing outside.
  6. After sneezing or coughing.
  7. Whenever hands are visibly dirty.

Please note: Thorough handwashing with soap and water should be done for at least 20 seconds to effectively reduce the spread of germs.

Hygiene for Staff

Staff should perform hand hygiene:

  1. Upon arrival at the Center and before going home.
  2. Before and after touching food, preparing bottles, or feeding children.
  3. Before and after the application of ointment to self or child.
  4. Before and after taking or given medication.
  5. After diaper change.
  6. After assisting a child in the washroom.
  7. After using the washroom.
  8. After ANY contact with body fluid such as runny nose, vomit, blood etc.
  9. After any cleaning tasks.
  10.  After removing gloves.
  11.  After handling the garbage.
  12.  Whenever hands are visibly dirty.

Please note: Thorough handwashing with soap and water should be done for at least 20 seconds to effectively reduce the spread of germs.

FOOD

  1. Children and staff are not allowed to share food, drinks, and personal items.
  2. Children are not allowed to participate in meal preparation.
  3. Label food containers, snacks, and water bottles with the child’s name to avoid accidental sharing.
  4. Reusable utensils and must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized after each use.
  5. Do not accept family-style meals. If a parent wants to send something for their child’s birthday, only store-bought packaged snacks will be allowed.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  1. Disposable gloves should be worn when cleaning body fluids.
  2. Wash hands before and after using disposable gloves.
  3. Staff who moves from one program to the other (floating staff) must always wear their mask.

Van Transportation

  1. Van will not be used for recreational purposes.
  2. Children and staff are required to wear a mask inside the van.
  3. Children and staff must sanitise their hands before getting into the van.
  4. All backpacks will be kept at the back of the van.

When to Wear a Mask

  1. The school-age children are now encouraged to wear a mask at the daycare especially during Free Play.
  2. All School Age teachers must wear a mask.
  3. All parents and guardians must wear a mask during pick up and drop off.
